Tuesday.

Tuesday. It's a weird kinda day. I mean, it's still the start of the week. But it's not the very start. The weekend's just that little bit closer, but only a little bit. I dunno. I'm in a weird mood as I post this. Ready for weekend, I suppose. Not wanting to wait. Well, listening to some gaming podcasts will help kill some time.

This week on the dial we have: Meeples & Miniatures Episode 253: Adeptus Titanicus; Rolling Dice & Taking Names Episode 155: Tabletop Showcase – Martin Wallace; Lords of the Dungeon 20: DnD Beyond Look Back, Our Favorite Monsters and The GM and Player Arms Race; Epic Gaming Night Podcast Episode 174: Innovation in Gaming!; Man Battlestations Episode 35; and Geeks of the North Episode 49: Gamer ADD.

We hope you enjoy the show.

Rolling Dice & Taking Names Episode 155: Tabletop Showcase – Martin Wallace

Over the six years of doing the Rolling Dice & Taking Names podcast, we have been privileged to have some of incredible designers drop by the show and talk. Once again, the show is graced by another well-known designer who really doesn’t need much introduction. Martin Wallace took some time from his game designs to discuss his new game Wildlands.

Wildlands is being produced by Osprey Games and already has one expansion and a second following in first quarter of 2019. This isn’t a typical Wallace game, but the depth and strategy are there as you would expect. Martin mentions during the show about the use of the Interrupt in the game and just how strategic it is. To be honest, it is something we had not even thought of during our plays. So, the next time it is on the table, we will sure to be taking it into consideration.

Lords of the Dungeon 20: DnD Beyond Look Back, Our Favorite Monsters and The GM and Player Arms Race

In Episode 20 the Lords take a couple of questions from the listeners and discuss our thoughts and opinions of DnD Beyond after using it for 6 months. Then we talk about our favorite monsters to go up against and ones Bender and Jamie like to pit against their players. Then we discuss some of the issues with players getting to high levels and the problems that can arise when preparing a game for higher level characters.
