The Division 2 Year 1 pass gives “instant access” to endgame specializations

The Division 2 is set to launch very soon, and while pre-orders are live, we haven’t gotten much detail on what comes in the Year 1 pass attached to the more expensive versions of the game. A store listing gives us a clue about what to expect, and it sounds pretty similar to what we’ve seen from other Ubisoft titles like Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor. The pass offers a week’s early access to the Year 1 Episodes, which Ubisoft first unveiled as free DLC back at E3. So it’s a familiar where those who pay extra get in early, but everyone gets in seven days later. Pass holders will also get eight “classified assignments” - no clarification on what those are, but they sound like the endgame challenges of the previous title - and other bonus activities and cosmetics. It also gives “instant access to all Year 1 Specializations as they release,” which is perhaps the most interesting detail. The Division 2 Specializations are a sort of prestige class system that lets you continue progressing your character after you reach the level cap. But we don’t yet know how they’re meant to be unlocked in-game, or how much of a leg-up it’ll be to buy access through the pass.
