Call of Duty “goes dark” ahead of rumoured May 30 reveal event

May 28, 2019 Looks like Call of Duty is prepping for the next big announcement.

By all accounts, we’re going to hear a lot more about the next Call of Duty this week. Social media profiles for the series are all “going dark” today, and this comes just before a reveal event reportedly happening on Thursday. Early reports all suggest that this will be a soft reboot simply titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but you can expect to find out for sure in two days.

Today, the Call of Duty accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook have all turned their banner images plain black and updated profiles to say “going dark.” According to Eurogamer, the full reveal for 2019’s Call of Duty is scheduled for May 30, and it certainly looks like all the public sources for the series are getting prepared.

So on Thursday, you’ll probably want to keep your eye on the official Call of Duty Twitch channel for the full reveal. The Black Ops 4 reveal was an hour-long event which took place on May 17, 2018, so it's safe to expect a similar format for this year's event.
