Rollecate Card Game Up On Kickstarter

In 1967, Dutch engineer Kees Neve created his largest locomotive ever, the Rollecate. For years, this train travelled the land. However, it now sits in a barn, waiting for new track to be built. That's where you come in. In Rollecate, a new card-laying game, players must build new track for the train. However, it's got a mind of its own, and it wants to get rolling. Play track quickly and make sure the train doesn't derail. The game is up on Kickstarter now.

Kees Neve is a famous Dutch engineer. In 1967 he built his third and largest steam locomotive. He called it Rollecate. It’s been in use ever since. That is, until a few years ago. Right now it’s sitting in an old barn, waiting. 

But not for much longer. You’ll get it moving again!

In this clever, quick to play game, you’ll be laying new tracks for Rollecate. But this steam locomotive has a mind of its own. It won’t wait for the tracks to be finished. So you’ll have to work fast.

The game starts with a short bit of track and Rollecate eagerly waiting to get moving. Every turn, you’ll get a chance to extend the tracks. You’ll draw a card and choose what track you want to add from your hand.

The rules are simple:

• The track will have to fit;
• You are not allowed to directly block the next player;
• And the number of the card should match that of the last card, or be one higher or lower.

Once you’ve laid the track, the train will move. The points on the card indicate how fast. Three, for instance, means rolling three dice. Rollecate will move one track forward for every wheel you roll.

But be careful not to let it derail. That will cost you points! Every step Rollecate would have to ride past the end of the track, you will have to take one card from the start of the track and put it on your discard pile.

The campaign is up and over its funding goal, but with only 9 days left to go.
