A new Fortnite map could be on the horizon

Fortnite’s map is something of an institution. While main competitor PUBG tried to keep players interested with brand new locations, Epic opted instead for smaller changes over time, with new seasons occasionally introducing new biomes, like the desert in the south-east and the ice biome in the south-west. But that may be about to change.

Earlier this month, dataminer Lucas7Yoshi posted twelve as-yet-unseen location names. While some of them - Weeping Woods, Slurpy Swamp, and Lazy Lake - bear similarities to places that we’ve seen before, none of them currently exist in the game, prompting the dataminer to say “a new map is likely, or at least a massively changed one.”

Earlier this week, that suggestion was backed up by a leaked loading screen. The screen, which is the final one for the current season, features a collection of characters waving goodbye as the Battle Bus flies off into the sunset. As an added extra, the screen is reportedly titled ‘Last Stop, Thank you, Bus Driver!’.
