Borderlands 3: The 10 Best Class Mods, Ranked | Game Rant

The Vault Hunters in Borderlands 3 have some interesting skills that make for some interesting playstyles, especially when coupled with legendary class mods. The class mods in the game can augment already strong abilities or tweak the game’s mechanics to result in entirely new builds based solely around the class mod.

The strongest class mods at the moment are based on how strong the underlying build is. Some recent buffs and nerfs have shaken things up a bit, but right now these are considered the best class mods among the fan base.

10 Infiltrator

Zane isn’t the strongest of characters at the moment so it only makes sense that his legendary class mod Infiltrator would rank a bit lower, though it still makes the list. Infiltrator increases weapon damage and movement speed as the shield decreases with maximum gains obtained when the shield depletes entirely.

The shield Stop Gap makes this class mod powerful as when this shield fully depletes it provides the player with five seconds of damage immunity. The idea is to burn your shield intentionally and then do ridiculous damage in those five seconds before finding cover and letting your shield replenish.

9 Antifreeze

Zane’s most powerful class mod is Antifreeze as it’s much simpler to use and is less reliant upon specific builds or gear. Whenever Zane slides or is airborne Antifreeze provides a 40% boost to damage and a 20% damage reduction. His movement speed will also receive a 25% boost whenever he’s Slowed.

It basically ensures he keeps moving and rewards him for doing so. If you’re running Zane as a glass cannon and need to keep him moving to avoid damage then this class mod will be a tremendous help.

8 Breaker

Amara melee builds are fairly strong right now and Breaker makes them even stronger. When Breaker is equipped, Amara will receive a boost to damage reduction the closer she is to the enemy. The highest this boost goes is 29%.

A 29% damage reduction bonus is nothing to scoff at, especially on the higher difficulties. This class mod also helps her exploit skills like Personal Space that raise damage by 54% the closer she is to her opponent, Blitz to improve melee damage, Jab Cross to raise weapon damage after doing melee, and stacking Mindfulness will be easier.

7 Mind Sweeper

Moze is really popular with beginners thanks to her durability and simpler skills. For those running a build based on criticals Mind Sweeper is a phenomenal passive class mod that raises DPS quite a bit. With every successful critical hit, Mind Sweeper has a chance of spawning a micro grenade that explodes.

If using a weapon with low damage and a high rate of fire like an SMG, this gives plenty of opportunities for this micro grenade to spawn causing a ton of damage.

6 Bounty Hunter

The Bounty Hunter class mod is great for players who are using FL4K to farm bosses. Once worn it causes all bosses to be treated as humans, beasts, or robotics for Hunter Skills. If your FL4K build is heavily based around the Hunter Skill tree this is a great class mod.

Now a skill like Hunter’s Eye will take effect on every boss in the game. Those categorized as Humans will let you deal increased critical hit damage, robots will receive greater armor damage, and beasts will grant FL4K greater damage reduction. There’s also a 3% chance a Hunter Skill will be activated when dealing gun damage.

5 Bloodletter

The Bloodletter class mod is very powerful with the right setup. Healing will now replenish shields and any form of health regeneration will go towards regenerating shields. This is the must-have class mod for low health high shield builds as it increases the potency of shields dramatically.

Combine this class mod with the Deathless artifact that drops health to one, doubles shield capacity, boosts shield recharge, and decreases shield recharge delay, and Moze’s Vampyr skill that regenerates 4% of missing health (now shields) with grenade damage and you’ll have an absolute tank via powerful shields. The only reason it doesn’t rank higher is you definitely need strong gear to make this work effectively.

4 R4kk P4k

With the recent boost to pet damage, pet-based builds for FL4K are seeing a surge. The class mod R4kk P4k taps into this and makes a Rakk build very, very powerful. Basically, whenever a pet Rakk hits the enemy it will split into two Rakks.

This means the damage output of that single Rakk is doubled and you’ll soon have a swarm of Rakks divebombing your enemies for impressive damage. Combine this with Falconer’s Feast and your team of Rakks will regenerate quite a bit of health. Any Action Skill duration increase will be huge with this class mod.

3 Phasezerker

Phasezerker is a powerful class mod for Amara as using the Action Skill will now provide add five Rush Stacks and each Rush Stack will decrease the cooldown of the Action Skill by 10%. This is awesome for the Mystical Assault skill tree where rush stacks will raise damage, increase reload speed, increase the elemental effect chances, and raise Action Skill damage.

The Avatar skill is a must-have as it increases the amount of Bonus Rush Stacks by 10 and lets Amara use her Action Skill twice with one cooldown. With the right setup, you can use the Actional Skill over and over again with little to any cooldown thanks to the 10% cooldown decrease with each Rush Stack.

2 Raging Bear

Moze’s strongest class mod is a beast if you use the Iron Bear, ever. When Raging Bear is worn the fuel usage of the Iron Bear is decreased with each kill and the damage of the Iron Bear increases as it takes damage.

The Stainless Steel Bear skill is a requirement with this class mod as it increases the armor of the Iron Bear by 30% enabling the Iron Bear to take more hits and raise it’s damage even higher.

1 Spiritual Driver

The strongest class mod in Borderlands 3 is the Spiritual Driver for Amara. Amara’s gun damage increases as she’s moving and rises the faster she moves. It also applies the elemental effect of her Action Skill to herself, if the Action skill deals fire damage then Amara will receive that fire damage.

Combine this with the skill Mindfulness that gives a 4.2% movement speed increase per stack up to 25 stacks every time damage is received and you’re looking at a potential 105% increase to movement speed. That 105% increase to movement speed is potentially received every time you use your Action Skill which is then used by the Spiritual Driver to dramatically increase gun damage as long as you’re moving at top speed. Using this class mod, and any additional boosts to movement speed, and the damage output becomes absurd.
