Borderlands 3 Glitch Gives Infinite Damage to FL4K Build

With Borderlands 3’s first expansion, Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, on the horizon players are swiftly uncovering every aspect that the latest update has to offer. Updates like new difficulty modes, new challenges to complete, and even new weapons that are quickly proving to be top-tier, like the Tankman’s Shield.

However, along with everything that the Mad Moxxi DLC will have to offer, players are also discovering some incredibly broken exploits in within the new landscape of Borderlands 3. This most recently discovered glitch revolves around the character FL4K, and gives him a build that is capable of dealing infinite damage that can topple extremely difficult bosses in Mayhem 4 in hardly any time at all.

First things first, players are going to need to gather the proper equipment in order to capitalize off of this exploit. Needless to say, this exploit is going to make any boss in the new challenge mode called Mayhem 4 a total breeze. Alright, the first two pieces of equipment to look out for is a shield called the Roid Rough Rider legendary shield, as it will give players an incredible plus 80% melee damage while the shield is depleted.

Next, players will simple need any other Rough Rider shield. It doesn’t have to be another legendary, any regular Rough Rider shield should do. However, farming this shields are going to be quite the task, as they are dropped by a rare boss spawn in Lectra City called Urist McEnforcer. Urist McEnforcer is not going to spawn consistently, so farming him is going to involve its fair share of luck.

Next, players are going to need to acquire a gun called the Face Puncher. This gun is the key to exploiting the melee damage buff that the Roid Rough Rider shield gives as the Face Puncher deals melee damage when shot. Again, players are going to need to go to a specific location to get this gun.

Head to Skywell and look for a boss that spawns in a certain location. Thankfully this boss, who seems to fit right in with the upcoming Mad Moxxie DLC and is called Handsome Jackie, is a consistent spawn. This means that it requires a lot less luck than hunting for Urist McEnforcer. That being said, the drop players are looking for is still a rare drop, so it will only actually show up around 20% percent of the time.

Okay, now that players have acquired the weapons they’ll need, let’s look at the specific build that is necessary to perform this glitch. First, make sure the only shields on FL4K are the two Rough Rider shields: the Roid Rough Rider and the regular Rough Rider shields. Next, players need to switch out those shields in the equipment menu rapidly so that only those two shields are switching out between each other.

If done correctly, the melee damage buff will begin to stack upon itself continuously. Now, this glitch is incredibly finicky to perform. If players leave the menu and return to it, then switch off of the shield slot onto their gun or other piece of equipment after racking up the buff, it will reset itself. So players need to perform the glitch for a certain amount of time and then leave the menu completely. To get damage racking up into the millions per shot, players will probably need to spend around 18 to 20 minutes switching between those two shields.

Okay, so let’s go over the complete final build now that players have the equipment that is absolutely necessary. Players can perform the glitch with just those weapons, but these extra bits of equipment will help players last longer in those difficult fights in Mayhem 4.

First, players want the Knife Drain legendary artifact, which will steal life from enemies and return it to the player for every melee hit. Next, a legendary Bounty Hunter mod for FL4K that will ideally boost FL4K’s health and add some weapon damage. As for skills, player will want to prioritize skills that aid in health and health regeneration, most of which can be found in the green Stalker tree and the blue Master tree, with little-to-nothing in the red tree.

While the glitch is finicky and time-consuming, the amount of damage that this build allows in a single shot is incredible. Some readers may remember another recent and equally powerful FL4K build that also allowed for some incredible damage output in Mayhem 4, but this build is something else entirely.

Borderlands 3 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Google Stadia version also in development.
