Destiny 2 Players Must Hit Rank 92 in the Season Pass | Game Rant
There has been a lot of discussions lately about Destiny 2 and its main sources of XP. Although Bungie has said that it wants players to be able to experience Destiny in any form, most have found that the game steers them towards bounties if they want the real rewards of each Season.
The Season Pass in Destiny 2 gives players 100 different reward steps, many of which are completely forgettable. But there is at least one unlock on the Season Pass that is a huge boon for players, however they must reach level 92 to unlock it.
On the Season Pass path for paid players, rank 92 unlocks a second perk in the second slot for all main Sundial weapons. At a glance this might not seem like a very useful unlock, but when one considers the whole point of Season of Dawn it actually becomes arguably the main goal of the entire Season.
Without a raid or any new endgame pinnacle activity, Season of Dawn has become a three-month weapon farm. There are a few Season of Dawn weapons that are quite good and farming them using bounties or the Sundial has become a key ritual over the last few weeks. But as any Destiny player knows, getting a weapon with the right perks can be very difficult.
Considering that the whole point of Season of Dawn is to farm weapons, then the ability to unlock two different perks in the second slot makes the grind a lot more palatable. Players have two chances at getting the perk they want in the second slot, while the first slot is still RNG.
One example of where this could be a huge advantage is with the new Breachlight sidearm, which is arguably one of the best new weapons in the game. If players can get a Range Masterwork, Accurized Rounds, Outlaw, and Multikill Clip or Rampage in the final slot then they would have a versatile “god roll.” Some PvE situations will favor the Multikill Clip option for its very high damage, while the Rampage option allows for quickly chewing through basic mobs.
For many of the Season of Dawn weapons, the ability to swap the last perk slot is a huge advantage, which makes the fact that it is 92 ranks into the Season Pass even more frustrating. Destiny 2 has a major problem when it comes to its sources of experience, and Bungie needs to do something.
