Dr. DisRespect Appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live | Game Rant
Yesterday on Jimmy Kimmel Live, popular streamer and two-time esports streamer of the year, Dr. Disrespect, was featured in a skit distributing new Turtle Beach headsets for Christmas. Dr. Disrespect was seen carrying a sack, much like Santa and agreed with Kimmel and co-host/security guard Guillermo’s thoughts of Santa Clause being creepy claiming, “He is creepy, he watches children and sneaks into our homes.”
Dr. Disrespect is well known for his antics over on Twitch where he streams games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS. He recently turned down an offer to migrate from Twitch to Mixer. He claims that the platform offers “extremely low” engagement as it seems Twitch is more comfortable for him to interact with his audience.
In the past, Dr. Disrespect has made guest appearances on shows like WWE SmackDown and even had a Borderlands gun made in his honor. He has also made guest appearances at Avenged Sevenfold concerts in the past that have been uploaded to his old YouTube channel.
Seeing Dr. Disrespect appear in popular media these days is a fun sight as he offers his engaging persona to a wider audience than just his Twitch fans. These appearances can prove crucial for the future of gaming as more streamers can expand their reach. Appearances such as this can draw in more fans into the streaming scene and can prove beneficial to a streamer's career as they gain more fans and viewership.
While some may not like Dr. Disrespect, his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live was a fun way to merge popular media with streaming personalities. Perhaps this is the first taste of "The Doc" for mainstream TV audiences before he debuts his own TV show.
