Modern Warfare Fans Believe Updates Were Left Out Of Patch Notes

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s 1.10 and 1.11 patches were released on December 3 and December 4, respectively, but fans have already taken to Reddit to voice their concerns. Although the update has only been out for a short time, fans have already started to notice changes to the game that were not detailed on the official patch notes.

While Modern Warfare released on October 25, 2019, the 1.10 patch signaled the official start to Modern Warfare’s Season One. The start of the first season added new maps and modes to the multiplayer but also removed Shoot House 24/7, 2v2 Gunfight Tournament, as well as fan-favorite mode, Gun Game. The initial update Infinity Ward released was followed by the 1.11 update that was intended to improve the game's stability

After the release of both patches, fans started a thread on Reddit to discuss what was seemingly left off of the patch notes by Infinity Ward. The many changes fans have claimed were made, but not mentioned in the official patch notes, include adjustments to map playlists and weapons, as well as increasing the amount of XP needed to rank up. Many fans over on the Reddit post seem to be displeased with Infinity Ward’s lack of communication; however, these changes have not officially been detailed and are still considered speculation.

The full list mentioned in the Reddit post includes:

  • Increased XP necessary to rank up
  • FAL Fire Rate decreased
  • Increased Ground War vehicle spawn rate
  • Changed EOD Hack duration
  • Added Arklov Peak to Cyber Attack
  • Added Grind and Capture the Flag to leaderboards
  • Reduced MG34 damage
  • Added new class layouts in Gunfight
  • Added PlayStation exclusive challenges
  • VLK Optic no longer increases ADS speed on some weapons
  • Adjusted the damage bars for the M91 and PKM
  • Possible change to precision aim setting, but could be a bug
  • Added St. Petrograd to Survival Mode
  • Added 'Operation Just Reward'
  • Added Atrium and Cargo to Gunfight
  • Added Reinforce, Grind, Infected and Gun Game in private matches
  • Removed Grazna Raid from 6v6 domination
  • Added Arklov Peak to HC Domination
  • Added 3 new trials missions
  • Sticking a thermite to a riot shield will result in a kill, both with and without EOD on
  • Decreased Oden damage (at least in Spec Ops), might have increased recoil as well
  • Added new animation when calling in a nuke
  • Increased AK47 recoil
  • Adjusted cruise missile sensitivity
  • Added two new Classic Spec Ops missions (Pitch Black & Grounded)
  • Adjustments on SnD defense spawn for St. Petrograd
  • Added some sort of time penalty to prevent players from committing suicide too much, however, not clear in which modes and under which conditions
  • Increased recoil on M4 when using SOCOM ammunition
  • Possible increase to vehicle health

Patch notes version 1.11:

  • Improved stability on Ground War matches
  • Re-enabled the spawn-in animation/birds eye camera in all gamemodes except Hardpoint/Headquarters
  • Apparently fixed some issues with tracking challenges
  • Removed night maps from HC TDM

If these notes are accurate, it's unclear why Infinity Ward didn't detail them; however, the company has outlined that it will be updating the game weekly over the next two months, so future patch notes may be more in-depth. The company has already stated that it will be adding new modes, maps, Operation missions, and additional content into the game in future updates. For fans unhappy with the current update, Infinity Ward could use one of the weekly updates to address the changes players have noticed.

Also added in with the new update is the highly anticipated Battle pass. Players can now buy the Battle Pass that will allow them to work through 100 tiers to unlock cosmetic items. This is the first time the Call of Duty franchise has opted out of loot boxes, in favor of the Battle Pass system. Gaining access to the Battle Pass will cost players 1000 COD Points but for players unsure of the purchase, the first 20 tiers are free to play through.
