Mortal Kombat 11 Fan Finds Creepy Similarity Between Sindel, Kitana

The internet loves sleuthing around in video games, trying to unravel secrets and mysteries that present themselves. While these are fairly tame more often than not, fans of Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm's most recent entry in the fighting game franchise, have noticed an eerie similarity between the fighters Sindel and Kitana.

A Reddit post by user bluesauce15 has begun to circulate among Mortal Kombat 11 fans. According to an image uploaded by the user, laying the Kitana face texture over Sindel's face will reveal a pretty much perfect match. While the idea of face-swapping two distinct characters on their own is a tad bit unsettling, it's strange to see the faces of the two characters have so much in common. At least the process to test the face-swapping wasn't as gruesome as Sindel's Fatalities.

Of course, according to Mortal Kombat lore, Kitana is Sindel's daughter, so it does make sense that the two characters bear such a striking resemblance to one another. That being said, it isn't all that common for two people's faces to match up almost perfectly, regardless of how related they are. With the Mortal Kombat movie on the way, it'll be interesting to see if the film has any subtle nods toward the viral post.

Sindel is the most recent DLC fighter to be added to Mortal Kombat 11. So far, Sindel Reviews have been fairly positive, with the character seeming like another strong addition to the fighting game. The balance of returning and licensed characters has been pretty solid so far, though some fans have felt burned by the lack of rum0red characters like Ash from the Evil Dead franchise, the DLC characters have been well-received so far.

Face-swaps and DLC characters aside, NetherRealm has stated that Mortal Kombat 11 has years of content still to come, so it's pretty likely that fans will continue finding more weird connections between characters well into the future, as more content is steadily added to the game. Hopefully, Mortal Kombat 11 will manage to keep players as engaged as they have been with the title well into the future. Or, at least, new DLC characters will be interesting enough to warrant jumping back in every now and then.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch
