When Does Destiny 2's Dawning Event End? | Game Rant
It's that wonderful time of year again, when snow falls on the Tower and Eververse gets a whole new slew of winter themed inventory. For anyone not in the know, this is the Dawning Event that comes to Destiny 2 every winter, offering players new armor and weapon skins.
With the event currently in full swing, players have been flocking to Destiny 2 to complete quests and receive the festive rewards, but how long do they have to earn their favorite items?
Having started on December 17th, players still have a few weeks until the Dawning ends on January 14th, 2020. Fortunately for any Destiny 2 players that haven't had the chance to enjoy the Dawning event just yet, there is still plenty of time to sign on and claim some winter-themed loot. The event will continue on through the new year, giving players ample opportunity to farm Dawning materials for epic rewards. Although, players should be sure not to wait too long, because once January 14th rolls around, all of these rewards will be locked away forever, with new rewards replacing the older ones next year.
Players still trying to wrap their heads around Eva Levante's Holiday Oven should hurry on their way to collect the necessary ingredients for the rewards in time. As is the case with any Destiny 2 event, farming and grinding materials and experience is the best bet for making sure players can get every reward they're looking for. However, for those who have a Warlock, a Hunter, and a Titan all at the same time, it'll be quite the commitment to get every piece of gear before the event ends next month.
The Dawning has been one of Destiny 2's most successful and well received events ever since it was first introduced back in 2017, even rivaling the Festival of the Lost that transferred over from the original Destiny. So, fans will certainly miss the yearly event when this season's Dawning ends on January 14th. However, it likely won't be long until another event comes to engage players with limited time gear and themed cosmetics.
Although, for players who are more focused on grinding for powerful Destiny 2 gear and increasing their light level, The Dawning might not exactly be quite as exciting. So maybe not every player has too much to worry about when the event ends in a few weeks.
