Avengers Director Played Tons of Destiny, Warframe, and Division Last Year

Thanks to PlayStation's recent Wrap-Up event that lets players see a detailed summery of their gaming experience on PS4 in 2019, people have been sharing their favorite games of the year, and the hours dedicated to them. One such player that shared their play experience was Casey Lynch, the Editorial Director over at Crystal Dynamics, the company making the new Marvel's Avengers game.

Lynch shared his Wrap-Up results on twitter recently, making note in the tweet about his most played game of the year by including the line "Hey Tenno". While the Marvel's Avengers director's most played game was Warframe, the other two top played certainly give a level of insight into what Lynch's primary game-type is.

Lynch's top three games for 2019 included Warframe with 487 hours logged into the game, Destiny 2 with 236 hours, and Tom Clancy's The Division 2 with 140 hours. Clearly Warframe blows the other two completely out of the water, with almost double the playtime of Destiny 2 in second place. However, it is also clear from this list that Lynch tends to prefer online shooters over other types of games, and while that might not be much insight on how Marvel's Avengers will eventually play, the influence of all this playtime may appear in the future release.

MMOs have been slowly filtering their way into mainstream gaming more and more lately, with amazing titles like the three Lynch followed in 2019 bringing in players from all different genres into the fold. The endless hunts and grinds for loot in these games gives players something to do for countless hours, with the lofty goal of "finishing" one of these titles always feeling impossibly out of reach. So, it isn't exactly surprising to see these three titles rise up to the top of some peoples list, especially when players can easily lose hours to them before they even realize they've been playing until 3 am.

In all honesty, the most impressive stat shown in Lynch's list of top three games is how someone with a full time job and family is able to find so many hours in the year to dedicate to their passion for gaming. Hopefully the nearly one thousand hours dedicated to Lynch's top three games aren't representative of why Marvel's Avengers has been delayed until later this year. Joking aside, seeing these kinds of numbers does add a little comfort for players waiting to play Crystal Dynamics' upcoming title, seeing as how the developers working on the game seem to be just as avid gamers as the fans.

Marvel's Avengers is set to release on September 4th, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
