2019 has been a great year for PlayStation fans with the release of several PS4 exclusives such as Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, Days Gone, and many more. While the lineup of upcoming video games for 2020 is shaping up to be another awesome year for players, several titles have already been delayed for varying reasons, including the PS4 exclusive remake of Final Fantasy 7.
Now, the new year is full of upcoming PS4 exclusive games that are set to release this year, to give players a glimpse of which titles to look out for in the coming months. Of course, given that 2020 has just begun, it is likely that more developers will reveal other PS4 exclusive games for this year, so this article will be updated as new games are announced.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is an upcoming PS4 exclusive that is based on a free-to-play mobile RPG game. The PS4 version of the fighting game features the same characters and is set the same universe. Granblue Fantasy: Versus is developed by Arc System Works and will be the franchise's first home console game, and is also the first entry to hit the North American market. The upcoming game was announced at E3 2019, and as of this writing, 11 characters have been revealed with more on the way through future DLC.

Nioh 2 is the upcoming follow-up to 2017's Nioh by developer Team Ninja. Although the upcoming game's title appears to be a sequel, Nioh 2 will take place before the events of the first game. Just like the first game, Nioh 2 released a limited-time beta demo in November of last year, which showcased some of the upcoming title's enemies, yokai powers, and various customization options for the game's protagonist. After the initial beta testing, Team Ninja announced that the demo was well-received by fans, and further improvements will be applied to the final build of the game.

Persona 5 was first released back in 2016, and in March 2020, an expanded edition called Persona 5 Royal will be released to the PlayStation 4. The updated version of the game will feature 20 new music tracks, a new Phanthom thief, a new semester that will expand the game's storyline, and PS4 Pro support. A Phantom Thieves collector's edition was also announced for Persona 5, which will include a unique PS4 theme, Joker Mask, steelbook case, artbook, and soundtrack.

Probably one of the most highly-anticipated games that are set to release this year is the long-awaited remake of the classic game, Final Fantasy 7. Rumors about the remake of the iconic entry in the Final Fantasy franchise have been surfacing online since the mid-2000s, but it wasn't until E3 2015 that the game was officially announced. A couple of years after its initial reveal, Square Enix admitted that the game was announced too early, but luckily fans won't have to wait for too long before the game sees the light of day. Yet, several days ago, Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy 7 remake will be slightly delayed, and will release on April 10, instead of its original launch date of March 3.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is an upcoming PS4 exclusive game that will feature an asymmetrical shooter gameplay. As the Predator, players are tasked to hunt down warriors in the forest and take them down one by one. The Predator will be equipped with a variety of weapons and tech devices to help the player hunt down warriors, and several classes will also be available in the game. Players can also take the role of an elite member of the mercenary team, who is tasked to plan out an escape route, and avoid being mercilessly killed by the Predator.

Iron Man VR is an upcoming game that will be released exclusively to the PSVR where players will get to suit up as Iron Man in the action-adventure game. In the announcement trailer, the game showcased how players can simulate Tony Stark's in-helmet UI via the PSVR headset, which will definitely be a fun experience for any Marvel fan. However, just like Final Fantasy 7, and a handful of other upcoming games, Iron Man VR won't be released as scheduled and will instead launch on May 15, 2020.

Another highly-anticipated title that is set to release this year is The Last of Us 2. The game serves as a direct sequel to 2013's The Last of Us, which was recently voted by PlayStation fans as Game of the Decade. The Last of Us 2 is set five years after the events of the first game and follows an older Ellie as she strives to find a peaceful life among the remaining members of the human race. In recent trailers of the game, it appears that an unfortunate event forces Ellie to embark on another life-threatening journey to seek vengeance and justice.

Ghost of Tsushima is the upcoming action-adventure game by Sucker Punch Productions that is expected to release sometime in the summer of 2020, exclusively to the PlayStation 4. The game is set in an open-world environment where players take the role of Jin Sakai, one of the last remaining Samurai who is tasked to defend the Island of Tsushima against the invading Mongol Empire. During last year's The Game Awards Sucker Punch released a gameplay trailer for the upcoming game that featured stylish swordplay showcasing several combat features that players can expect.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the eighth main installment in the Yakuza series and was previously released in Japan on January 16, 2020, with a worldwide release expected sometime this year. The game features a new protagonist named Ichiban Kasuga, who is a young member of Tojo Clan's Arakawa family. Compared to previous entries in the franchise, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will feature an overhauled combat system that will implement a new turn-based battle system.
