Pokemon GO Best Cresselia Counters For GO Fest 2021 Raid Day
There's less than a week to go before GO Fest 2021 kicks off and Pokemon GO players can already start preparing for the big weekend of activities. Trainers should be clearing out their bag space, upgrading inventory storage, and stocking up on Pokeballs in the days leading up to the annual event. With day two putting a spotlight on Battle Raids in the game, it would also be wise to start updating some counter rosters for some of the tougher bosses, as well.
Pokemon GO trainers will definitely want to update their Mewtwo counter rosters, but that isn't the only Pokemon that players will need to prepare for. A lot of time has passed since many of the featured bosses appeared in Battle Raids, which means that players have Mega Evolutions, new Pokemon, and new movesets to take into consideration when optimizing their rosters and getting a strong list of fighters ready for the big day.
One of the most popular Raid Bosses of the day is likely going to be Cresselia. This Psychic-type is going to be weak against Bug-, Dark-, and Ghost-type Pokemon; which means players should have a lot of useful choices from the current PvE metagame. A handful of the best counters also match up with strong Mewtwo counters, which means players can use their valuable resources a bit more wisely and prepare a handful of the same Pokemon for both fights.
Gengar (Mega) - Lick/Shadow Claw
Houndoom (Mega) - Snarl/Foul Play
Gyarados (Mega) - Bite/Crunch
Chandelure - Hex/Shadow Ball
Tyranitar - Bite/Crunch
Yveltal - Snarl/Dark Pulse
Gengar - Shadow Claw or Lick/Shadow Ball
Darkrai - Snarl/Shadow Ball
Giratina (Origin) - Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball
This counter roster is obviously stacked with very powerful Legendary Pokemon, but players who don't have all of them at their disposable shouldn't feel too stressed. As long as players head into the Battle Raid with a good number of other players (4-6) and concentrate on fielding the best roster of Dark-, Bug-, and Ghost-type Pokemon that they can, a win should still be possible. Don't hesitate to use Stardust, TMs, and Candy to prepare the best available Pokemon for this fight, as well. Most of these counter choices are frequently useful in the PvE scene, so it likely won't be an investment for a one-time use for the average player.
In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the rest of the Season of Discovery. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
