The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD: How To Complete The Missing Sister Side Quest
The second side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD requires players to track down a missing woman and then help to nurse her injured Loftwing back to health with a special mushroom-based medicine. Before they are able to initiate the quest, however, they'll first need to have completed the Lost Child quest for Wryna, which is unlocked after placing the Ruby Tablet into the altar in the Chamber of the Sword.
Unlike the game's other side quests, completing the Missing Sister quest will reward players with ten gratitude crystals rather than the usual five. With this in mind, it's a good idea to get it out of the way as soon as possible, as these additional crystals allow players to get their hands on an extra piece of heart, which can be incredibly helpful during the early stages of the game.
To begin the Missing Sister side quest, players will need to make their way to the Plaza area, which can be found near the Light Tower at the most southerly point of Skyloft. Once there, they'll see a burly man named Parrow pacing around as he worries about the fate of his missing sister. Apparently, she was planning to check out a colorful island that recently appeared near Skyloft, but is yet to return despite leaving some time ago. Parrow will ask Link to help look for her and mention that the island in question is southwest of Skyloft.
The colorful island that Parrow's sister wanted to visit shows up on the map as a small green circle with a white dot in the middle, but players won't actually need to go that far. After mounting their Loftwing and heading out in the direction of the colorful island, they'll soon come across a smaller one with nothing but an injured Loftwing and a stranded woman on it. Players should drop down onto the island by tapping down on their d-pad and then speak to the woman.
Players should immediately recognize this woman as Orielle, the woman who pointed them in the direction of the Lumpy Pumpkin during the previous side quest. She'll tell Link that her Loftwing needs some special bird medicine and that her brother Parrow should have some to hand. Of course, with Orielle's Loftwing out of service, it's up to Link to go and fetch the medicine and save the day.
Thankfully, Parrow hasn't moved from where players first spoke to him, so it's a simple case of mounting Link's Loftwing and then flying back over to Skyloft's Plaza area. Parrow will instantly hand over the bird medicine, and tell link that he can keep the Empty Bottle as a reward once the Mushroom Spores have been administered to the injured Loftwing.
With the special bird medicine now in hand, players can return to the small island and give the medicine to Orielle. She'll use it on her Loftwing, which will recover almost immediately, and then give Link five Gratitude Crystals as a reward before she flies away. The quest doesn't end there, however, with five more Gratitude Crystals still up for grabs.
Now that Orielle's Loftwing is fully recovered and she's no longer considered missing, players can return to Parrow in the Plaza area on Skyloft. He'll thank Link for helping, and, like his sister, hand over five Gratitude Crystals as a way of saying thanks. Considering he'd already given Link an Empty Bottle earlier on, this is a pretty decent reward. It gets better too.
Players should now have accrued 15 Gratitude Crystals, meaning that they can return to Batreaux for another reward. This time, he'll provide Link with an additional piece of heart, which, when combined with three other pieces, will increase Link's maximum health by one full heart. If players didn't return to Batreaux after completing the Lost Child side quest, they can also get the Medium Wallet from him at this time too.
