Call of Duty: Vanguard Fans Discover Warzone Anti-Cheat Easter Egg
The PlayStation exclusive weekend of the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta may be live right now, but that has not stopped fans from finding secrets in the game’s multiplayer reveal. One of these secrets is a clear nod to Call of Duty: Warzone’s upcoming anti-cheat system, which is set to come to the game once the Call of Duty: Vanguard themed map arrives.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s anti-cheat system has been something fans have been begging for over the past several months, as the battle royale game has an overwhelming number of cheaters. Whether they are using aimbots and wallhacks or crushing players with flying cars, it has gotten harder and harder to avoid those playing unfairly. With bans only impacting accounts, cheaters can continue ruining the game under a new name, making the anti-cheat system essential.
As pointed out by the YouTuber JGOD, the Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer reveal features a clear nod to the new anti-cheat system and the plentiful bans that it will hopefully deliver. While most of the stream focused on the new game’s multiplayer experience, highlighting things such as the destruction mechanics and gunsmith, the final segment discussed Call of Duty: Warzone. Specifically, the new map and anti-cheat system were discussed, and fans going frame-by-frame can catch a clever nod to what is coming.
While most players were focused on the footage of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Pacific map, and the confirmation that anti-cheat will launch alongside it, JGOD caught a very cool detail. At 27 minutes into the reveal, an Operator swings a hammer as part of a finishing move. However, on that hammer is some writing that clearly reads as the word “ban.” Seeing a literal ban hammer on screen at the same time anti-cheat is discussed is hilarious, and the extra effort should get fans even more excited for the system’s debut.
Hopefully, this anti-cheat system is effective, as several content creators and regular players have quit Call of Duty: Warzone due to the state of the game. It would also be great if Call of Duty: Warzone fans could expect detection for players using map exploits or other glitches to their advantage. Just as frustrating as the number of hackers, the stim glitch and out of map spots have ruined games just as oftem. With it taking a long time to eliminate these issues from Verdansk, the new map will likely have similar problems upon release if the anti-cheat does not catch exploiters.
With Call of Duty: Warzone’s weapon balancing likely to become an even hotter topic once the new guns are added, too, it will be interesting to see how the game changes. For those just looking for a laugh, though, this well-hidden ban hammer should do the trick.
Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
