Fallout 76 Brings Back Series Composer

Inon Zur is returning to the Fallout universe to write the music for this November's Fallout 76. This is no big surprise, as Zur has composed music for all the mainline Fallout games going back to 2001's Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.

Speaking to Variety, Zur said he worked with Fallout director Todd Howard and audio director Mark Lampert to make a "sophisticated and emotional score that takes the player on a whole new journey,."

The music includes recordings with the Budapest Film Orchestra and the Lyris String Quartet. "I believe that this is one of my most unique scores to date and I can't wait to share it with everyone," he said.

For his part, Lampert said Bethesda is amped up about Zur coming back for Fallout 76.

"His work helps create that familiar Fallout' sound that roots us in the series, but also sculpts and evolves that sound toward the elements that make Fallout 76 unique: working together to rebuild, looking to the future, and the dramatic, rolling landscape of West Virginia," Lampert said. "We look forward to everyone getting the chance to enjoy this music and the game world as we did while putting it all together."

In addition to the Fallout series, Zur is known for his music for the Dragon Age and Prince of Persia franchises.

The Fallout 76 beta starts in October, though specific start dates for PS4, Xbox One, and PC have not been announced yet. A line on the FAQ page states that this will be the full version of the game, with progress carrying forward to the full release in November.

Fallout 76 launches on November 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Unlike previous entries in the acclaimed RPG series, Fallout 76 is an always-online, multiplayer-focused game.

Looking ahead, Bethesda will make some Fallout 76 announcements at QuakeCon this week, so keep checking back for more.
