The best PC games of 2017

The best games of 2017 certainly make up an exciting list; it really was a vintage year for PC titles. Resident Evil 7 ripped our nerves to shreds. The Surge kicked us squarely in our bionic butts. Life is Strange: Before the Storm made us feel all the feelings. Oh, and we shot some Nazi robo-dogs in Wolfenstein II: The New Order. With an excellent assortment of both triple-A Steam games and exciting indies, there was something for everyone in a year where a former Home Alone 2 extra got the Big Job in the White House. Sorry for reminding you about that but, on the plus side, 2017 was such a great year for video games that plenty of titles in this list make up the best PC games of all time. But, for now, let's get back to the best games of 2017: whether playing Call of Duty: WWII's surprisingly tender campaign in glorious 4K on a GTX 1080 TI, or scaring yourself silly with The Evil Within 2 on a mid-range rig, 2017 was one of the most varied gaming years in recent memory.
