The Witcher Netflix series casts Triss Merigold
There's been a lot of excitement around the upcoming The Witcher Netflix TV series today, as we got our first look at Superman actor Henry Cavill in-costume as Geralt of Rivia, but Netflix have also revealed some further casting details too - most notably, who we can expect to see in the major role of sorceress Triss Merigold. Hollyoaks actress Anna Shaffer has been cast as Triss in the new series for Netflix, who will be joining Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg as the two main sorceresses on The Witcher - and rivals for the affections of Cavill's Geralt. Additionally, as revealed by Netflix (via Hollywood Reporter), we can also expect to see Eamon Farren (Twin Peaks: The Return) as Cahir, Joey Batey (Knightfall) as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards, Star Wars Rebels) as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson (Wanderlust) as Istredd, Maciej MusiaĆ as Sir Lazlo, and. Wilson Radjou-Pujalte (Hunter Street) as Dara. Lars Mikkelsen is probably the most interesting name there, since he's the brother of Casino Royale and Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen - who for a long time was the fan-favourite choice for the role of Geralt of Rivia, before it went to Henry Cavill.
