A former Dragon Age lead is heading up Improbable’s new game studio

Improbable, the developer of cloud-based multiplayer service SpatialOS, has begun development on its own titles for the first time. Development will take place across two studios, situated in London and Edmonton, and will be headed up by former BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn. Details of the title are pretty hard to come by at this point, but we do know that 50 staff are covering art, dame design, programming, and tool development in the Edmonton studio. Flynn, who worked on the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series as well as Star Wars: The Old Republic, during his time at BioWare, will run the studio as Improbable’s general manager of North America. It’s also a pretty safe bet that the game will feature cloud-based multiplayer. As well as the Edmonton studio, Improbable is also building up a second studio in London, which will be headed up by former Epic and DICE executive producer John Wasilczyk. The company’s CEO, Herman Narula, said in a press release that it’s looking to expand into “other locations in the future.”
