Amouranth Asked to Leave Event at TwitchCon 2019 | Game Rant
Throughout the month of September, Twitch streamer Amouranth managed to grow her following on the streaming platform by over 400,000 followers. Amouranth's Twitch channel exploded in popularity largely thanks to media attention surrounding her Twitch ban, where she was banned from the platform for three days due to an accidental wardrobe mishap. Now Amouranth has found herself back in the spotlight, but for a weird reason.
As most top Twitch streamers are likely to do, Amouranth attended the TwitchCon 2019 event this past weekend. There was a clip of Amouranth trying to get access to one of the events at TwitchCon, but she was denied entry and told to leave. This clip received over 1,000 upvotes on the LivestreamFail subreddit. However, it's not quite as scandalous as some people seem to believe.
According to some users on the LivestreamFail subreddit, Amouranth was asked to leave not because of who she is or any controversy surrounding her channel. And the other theory that she was asked to leave because of her revealing crop-top doesn't appear to be the case either. Apparently, there were simply no seats left for that event, and the staff were not allowing any attendees to stand and watch. Some reported that they themselves were turned away for that very reason.
While the Amouranth TwitchCon 2019 situation is basically a non-event, the attention it's gotten will likely result in Amouranth's channel growing even further. Amouranth's channel is the fastest-growing on Twitch, and as long as situations like this keep happening, it's hard to see her channel's growth slowing down anytime soon.
Amouranth is far from the only Twitch streamer to benefit from a ban or an absence. In fact, when Dr. DisRespect returned from his self-imposed Twitch hiatus, his return stream literally crashed the video streaming site.
Some might argue that Twitch streamers may be encouraged to engage in controversial behavior to purposefully get their channels banned, in the hopes that the attention will see a spike in followers. Twitch's moderation policy was a hot topic of discussion at this year's TwitchCon, and it will be interesting to see what it ultimately decides to do in regards to streamer controversies moving forward.
