Tfue Announces His Twitch Return Date | Game Rant

One of Twitch's top streamers is returning to the platform after taking a hiatus. On Thursday morning Tfue posted an update on Twitter announcing that he'll be "Returning to Twitch and YouTube October 1st," with a flexing bicep emoji. Tfue had announced that he'd be taking time off from streaming just over two weeks ago, to the surprise of his many Twitch followers.  It appears that he just really needed a vacation, but is now ready to get back to the grind.

On September 12, Tfue announced that he was taking a break from Twitch. "I have anything I could ask for in life but for some reason I'm not happy lately," Tfue told his followers on Twitter. "I feel trapped in a negative crawl space in my mind." Tfue also reportedly posted images to his Instagram story that made his followers worry about his state of mind. Since Tfue didn't provide a date that he would return, some expected that he might be done streaming entirely.

Announcing that he was taking a break from Twitch apparently didn't slow down Tfue's love of Fortnite, however. Since his departure, he's posted many times about playing Fortnite. It seems that it's not playing Fortnite day after day that bothered Tfue so much as having to livestream himself playing in front of an audience. And, perhaps through playing on his own, Tfue's feeling the confidence and energy to return to streaming.

Tfue is likely to pick up right where he left off in terms of popularity once he returns to Twitch. His tweet announcing his return has already been viewed near 100,000 times according to Twitter's measurements. Tfue has long been one of Twitch's most successful streamers, topping out just below Ninja at the Fortnite players' peaks. Even now, despite his hiatus, it's likely that Tfue would be considered one of the top 5 most popular streamers on Twitch.

That said, Tfue's return isn't going to be welcomed by all. Not long prior to Tfue's departure, the Twitch streamer was embroiled in a controversy after using a racial slur as a curse word while playing Minecraft. Tfue even rushed to delete the VOD of the incident hoping to get ahead of the controversy, but by then recordings had already been made. This isn't the first time Tfue has said a racial slur on-stream, either. He was banned for 30 days in 2018 for saying it while playing Fortnite. The more recent incident was especially controversial, however, because Twitch allowed Tfue to say the slur without punishing him.
