Jeff Kaplan offers “whatever” Overwatch character for Smash Bros crossover
Blizzard’s vice president and lead director of the studio’s multiplayer FPS Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, has made a pretty exciting offer sure to please fans of the game - and the idea of a crossover with Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Kaplan has said that the team behind the fighting game can use “whatever character” from Overwatch they’d like in the event of a crossover.
Kaplan recently said to IGN in an interview, “To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all. They’re all our babies, you can have any single one of them. We have 31 to choose from," when he was asked which Overwatch hero he might like to see appear in the game.
But it appears that Kaplan also has a favorite he’d choose as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate guest star: Damage hero Lena ‘Tracer’ Oxton. “Tracer's our girl, Tracer's our mascot. She'd be my first choice," Kaplan said, adding that “there's a lot of great runners up. I think a lot of people can immediately see Doomfist gameplay applying to Smash, but if it were up to me, I'd like to see Tracer."
