Another Major Twitch Streamer Teases Move to Mixer | Game Rant

After teasing a huge announcement during a recent live stream, popular Twitch streamer Pokimane has fans speculating whether or not the streamer may be moving to Microsoft's competitor streaming platform, Mixer.

Despite being a loyal Twitch streamer and one of the most popular female streamers on the platform with nearly 3.5 million subscribers, Imane Anys, otherwise known as "Pokimane," recently revealed that she is in the process of finalizing a new streaming contract. If Pokimane does, in fact, leave Twitch for Mixer she would be the first major female streamer to do so.

The announcement came on October 30 when Pokimane was chatting with her streaming audience and teased that she is getting ready to switch platforms. The conversation sent her loyal fans into a frenzy as they speculated where the star could be streaming next. While many of her fans pointed their fingers at Mixer, Pokimane emphasized, "You guys can say Mixer as much as you want. It will not change what I'm gonna say!" Despite her trying to counter the conversation, streaming fans continue to speculate on the motives behind the moves of recent streamers who have also changed platforms.

The news comes after Twitch has lost top streamers by the likes of Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek, and Cory "Gothalion" Michael within the last three months, leading many streaming fans to wonder who else might be in talks with Microsoft's new streaming platform. Though the terms of any of the aforementioned deals haven't been made public, some suggest Microsoft may be providing financial and viewership stability that Twitch simply cannot offer its streamers. Ninja's wife and manager, Jessica Blevins, recently claimed that Twitch was limiting the potential for licensing deals with Ninja and was unresponsive to multiple requests from the popular streamer's team.

Not everyone is a fan of Mixer, though, as popular Twitch streamer Herschel Beahm IV, otherwise known as "Dr. Disrespect," commented on the possibility of him moving to Mixer by saying it's something that he would "never do" and "you can't pay for a community ... you can't buy viewership." Though everyone isn't a fan of Mixer, none can argue that Ninja's arrival on the new streaming platform has spurred more interest for the community by increasing streamed content by 188% in the last three months, according to data obtained from Streamlabs.

Only time will tell exactly what Pokimane's announcement may actually be, but she did attempt to make light of the event by joking that it could even be something as simple as "getting a new cat." If Microsoft did land a new deal with the popular streamer, it would be yet another major blow to Twitch.
