Destiny Fan Creates Awesome King's Fall Raid 'Concert Poster'

There are a lot of things that can be said about Destiny 2 on the love-hate spectrum, with some players continuing to praise the game as it grows and evolves, and others feeling the burn as the seasons turn. Nostalgia is beginning to creep in for older states of the game, as well as for the original Destiny, and some have manifested that nostalgia in surprisingly creative ways.

It really is surprising to realize that the franchise, including only Destiny and Destiny 2, has been going strong and constantly adding new content since 2014, with new expansions regularly gracing the first looter shooter and, eventually, a transition to the proper sequel. One of those expansions, which added the King's Fall Raid to the original Destiny, has been a fan favorite since its release, and one fan had a unique way to show their love.

Reddit user SithCorgi, on top of creating one of the most adorable user names on the platform, also created album artwork for a fictional, enormous album titled 'Oryx', named for the boss at the end of King's Fall. This was not the end of their heavy-metal/Destiny crossover, however, as they recently completed a full-on King's Fall Concert Poster.

The Poster shows Oryx peering at a spaceship in a glorious old-school style reminiscent of a comic book, or a Mastodon poster. While Destiny 2's predilection towards sticking in the past is not helping its story, it certainly seems to be fueling the creativity of its players.

The poster features a list of elements, not all of them characters or groups, lined up as if they were bands. SithCorgi figured that since so many of the things in the Destiny universe already sound like heavy metal bands, it would make sense to line them up for a theoretical music festival. Considering the fact that Destiny developer Bungie has a habit of naming things in its games, especially songs like Mjolnir, to be as metal as possible, this should not come as too much of a surprise.

The thread was filled with praise for the poster, as well as reminiscing about the raid itself, which many considered to be their favorite of all time, despite being released all the way back in 2015 for the original Destiny These days, the most interesting thing to come to Raids of late has been a particularly player-helping glitch that grants invincibility, and it is leading many to worry that the glory days of the Destiny series are firmly in the past.

If this poster proves anything, however, it is that love for the series still burns bright in the hearts of many, at least enough to create awesome tributes like the Poster. If Bungie can knock Destiny 3 out of the park, there may still be hope for the franchise as a whole.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One
