The Best Perks for Each Destiny 2 Timelost Obelisk Weapon

With the latest Season of Dawn in Bungie's Destiny 2, players can undertake many new activities to earn rewards. In doing so, they will find familiar weapons from the past, and be able to change them in the present.

The ninth season of Destiny 2 centers around the time-traveling Sundial, obelisks on different worlds, and other related tasks. Collecting the Polarized Fractaline currency through missions and bounties will allow guardians to upgrade those obelisks as well as unlock the bounties for different Timelost weapon frames. Once completed, guardians can roll different perks on those weapons lost-in-time for the perfect PvP and PvE situations.

Out of the reintroduced weapons, Mercule904 on the Destiny subreddit goes over four in detail. The Traveler's Judgement 5 is an adaptive burst sidearm that is able to compete in functionality and stats with more well-known weapons while only having a real drawback in recoil direction. As such, the best perks to use for PvP are the Control SAS/Quickshot SAS sight, Ricochet Rounds magazine, Feeding Frenzy trait, Tap the Trigger trait. PvE perks on the other hand should be Control SAS sight, Flared Magwell/Appended Mag/High Caliber Rounds magazine, Feeding Frenzy/Auto-Holster trait, and Surrounded trait.

On that note, the other recommended weapon is the Perfect Paradox, a shotgun that excels in multiple roles depending on what Destiny 2 guardians need. In PvP, the equipped perks should be the Full Choke barrel, Accurized Rounds magazine, Slideshot trait, and Opening Shot trait to get multiple shots off compared to other shotguns. For PvE content, any stability barrel and the Appended Mag/Tactical Mag are necessary. For DPS specifically, Field Prep/Demolitionist and One-Two Punch/Trench Barrel are the best traits to add. But for add-clearing, guardians should use the Slideshot and Swashbuckler/Rampage traits wipe out packs of enemies at once.

The third weapon out of the bunch is the Jack Queen King 3 handcannon. While not the most useful lightweight gun in PvP or PvE, the familiar weapon perks that can be rolled are very useful for enhancing its range and stability. For PvP matches, the recommended setup is the HitMark HCS/TrueSight HCS sight, Ricochet Rounds Magazine, Subsistence trait, and Rampage/Swashbuckler trait. In PvE content, perks should be the SteadyHand HCS sight and Flared Magwell/Appended Mag magazine with any traits that boost AOE damage like Swashbuckler or Rampage.

Finally, the Infinite Paths 8 pulse rifle may come in lost when compared with the other Timelost weapons, but it can be refined with perks to work around its low recoil and range. PvP guardians should go for the Extended Barrel/Chambered Compensator barrel, Accurized Rounds/Tactical Mag magazine, Moving Target trait, and Eye of the Storm/Swashbuckler trait to try and match the current competitive meta. PvE will use similar perks in the Chambered Compensator/Arrowhead Brake barrel, Tactical Mag/Appended Mag/Flared Magwell magazine, Demolitionist/Auto-Loading Holster trait, and Swashbuckler/Dragonfly trait to address range, stability, and recoil compared to other weapons.

In the end, the latest bunch of Timelost Obelisk weapons and their best perks are bound to be an upgrade for new players and even some veterans of the series. If that doesn't interest guardians, however, they can still opt to play through the on-going story with a revived Saint-14.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
