The Witcher Franchise Is Currently On Sale at Humble | Game Rant
For fans of RPGs, few franchises have left as great an impression in recent years as CD Projekt Red's The Witcher games. Not only is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt considered one of the best action role-playing games of the past decade, but it has gone on to inspire a hit Netflix series that wasn't concerned about competing with Star Wars.
Now RPG fans who somehow missed out on this great game before (including the more recent Switch version) have a chance to try it for a low price. The Humble Store has the entire The Witcher franchise on sale as part of their RPG Week Sale.
Every game in The Witcher franchise is on sale. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition, which includes the hit 2015 game plus the two excellent DLC adventures, is now 70% off, bringing the price down to $14.99. Other titles have even higher price cuts, with the Enhanced Editions of the first and second Witcher games and The Witcher Adventure Game receiving a staggering 85% discount, bringing their prices to about $1.50 and $3 each. The lowest discount goes to Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, which still gets a 50% discount and a price of $14.99.
For those who have already played through The Witcher 3 for the umpteenth time, there are plenty more RPGs on offer during Humble's sale. RPG fans looking for something different may want to check out Obsidian Entertainment's underrated Tyranny - Gold Edition, now 50% off. The game puts players in the role of the evil overlord Kyros' trusted lieutenant and offers plenty of classic CRPG combat and moral decision-making. Another great Obsidian title on sale is Pillars of Eternity - Definitive Edition, also 50% off. Though the combat is a little unbalanced, it is still a great tribute to the golden age of CRPGs.
For fans of shoot-and-loot RPGs, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has a huge 67% discount. That includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, as well as all the DLC for both games.
Though it is strange seeing a sale like this well after the holiday season, it's not strange seeing The Witcher franchise going on sale right now. GOG.com gave The Witcher collection a massive discount towards the end of December. A lot of these recent sales may have to do with the popularity coming from Netflix's The Witcher series, with viewers looking to play the games afterward.
It's been reported that following the release of the show, the player base of the game rose up significantly, reaching even higher numbers than when the game was first released. As such, many online retailers are seeing this as an opportunity to sell the game to an all-new wave of fans.
The Witcher franchise's sale at Humble ends January 15th, 2020.
