Epic Games Store Reveals Next Free Games | Game Rant

The next free games in the Epic Games Store have been revealed. This time, two games will be available on March 5, 2019. Those games are Offworld Trading Company, a strategy game, and the roguelike platformer GoNNER, which has now become available on multiple free services.

When players download the games for free, they will remain in the player's Epic Games Launcher library forever, so it's worth it for players to snag these games while they are available. The Epic Games Store continues to eat away at PC games sales, and perhaps some of this free game goodwill is the reason.

The Epic Games Store reveals monthly free games as a part of its platform to entice users to the service. Currently, the games PandemicCarcassonne, and Ticket to Ride are all available to download for free, but will be replaced with the aforementioned GoNNER and Offworld Trading Company when they release on March 5th.

GoNNER is a procedurally generated 2D platformer. It's known for its high difficulty and unique art style. Developed by indie developer Art in Heart, in 2017,  it also made its way to the Nintendo Switch where it picked up a new audience. The Switch player base enjoyed the frantic roguelike platformer, so Epic Games Store players should be happy to get to try to game for free as well.

Offworld Trading Company is very much a different game from GoNNER, but no less exciting as a free title. The game is a real-time strategy developed by Mohawk Games. It has a science-fiction theme, and at a glance, it could draw comparisons to the Starcraft series. While not a top strategy game of the past decade, it's certainly worth picking up for anyone who enjoys the genre.

The Epic Games Store continues to deliver in terms of content and seemingly customer-facing services. However, it has a long way to go to try to move forward from some of the controversies that upset much of the PC fanbase. Time will tell if goodwill can be built back up, but free games and smart services is certainly a start.
