Fortnite Battle Pass: Should You Pick Ghost or Shadow | Game Rant
Season 2 of Chapter 2 has arrived in Fortnite and it is bursting with new content, weapons, map changes, and of course, a brand new battle pass. One of the unique changes in this season of the Fortnite battle pass is that players will be able to choose between Ghost or Shadow themed Agents. Once the selection is made, there's no going back.
Season 2's theme is wrapped around secret agents, and new secret lairs have been added throughout the map to match this theme. Players will be able to purchase the battle pass for 950 V-bucks as per usual. Once level 20 of the pass is reached, players can unlock Brutus, the first of the Agents. From here, players can choose whether they would like to select the Ghost faction or the Shadow faction, once they have completed 18 of Brutus' Briefing Challenges.
The options do have a good vs. evil type feel. The Ghost faction has light coloring with mainly white clothing. Meanwhile, the Shadow faction has darker styles, with most of the skins focusing on black clothing. Even Midas, the mysterious leader of the organization, has his gold skin but white and black clothing to go along with either of the factions.
Each faction has its own appeal, and Epic even hinted at the Ghost vs Shadow decision possibly having a larger role in the progression of the season, other than just the skins that are available. Choose wisely, as whichever option is selected, the choice is permanent. There are already hidden vaults throughout the map that can only be opened by finding keycards. Epic may be planning on faction-specific hideouts and hidden items depending on which side players have chosen.
The new season of Fortnite has seen quite the overhaul in terms of gameplay mechanics and content. The battle pass, and being able to select a faction within it, is just an example of one of these changes. The challenge system has also seen an upgrade. And new Mythic Weapons have also been added to the game that are extremely powerful and fun to use.
Time will tell if this newest season has the staying power to keep Fortnite atop some of its competition. However, said competition could also learn from Fortnite when it comes to how they've handled the battle pass this season.
Fortnite is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One
