Mortal Kombat 11 Poster Features Good Look at Spawn | Game Rant
Ever since the announcement of Final Kombat, Mortal Kombat 11 fans have been pumped. To go along with this announcement, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have unveiled a new poster that gives fans a close look at the upcoming DLC character Spawn.
The official Mortal Kombat 11 poster, created by talented fan artist Boss Logic, features close-ups of both Shang Tsung and Spawn. Spawn's gameplay trailer has yet to be revealed, but this poster does reveal some details on what the character will look like.
Unveiled in a tweet earlier today, this Mortal Kombat 11 poster shows a close-up of Spawn's face and upper torso. From what's seen, his design seems to match his comic counterpart pretty closely. He has the same black and white mask and chest insignia, and his red cape is tied in front with a skull and chain. Though the character is more than twenty years old, his design has remained consistent throughout most of the comic reboots and film and video game adaptations, so there was little chance anything would change here.
Last week, fans got their best look at Spawn yet when photos of his Mortal Kombat 11 figure surfaced online. As was said earlier, his design is mostly the same as it's always been, but the figure did reveal one crucially important detail. Along with his signature chains, Spawn will be using a sword to fight. An interesting change from his previous fighting game appearance in Soulcalibur II, in which he transformed his cape into a double-sided axe.
Spawn's release date is coming sooner than some fans may have expected, as he's scheduled to arrive to Mortal Kombat 11 on March 17th. His gameplay trailer– which will likely feature his first fatality– will drop on March 8th, at Final Kombat 2020, the game's official e-sports tournament.
For Mortal Kombat fans unfamiliar with the comic book antihero, NetherRealm Studios thoughtfully shared a new bio on the upcoming DLC character:
Al Simmons, once the U.S. government's greatest soldier and most effective assassin, was mercilessly executed by his own men. Resurrected from the ashes of his own grave in a flawed agreement with the powers of darkness. Simmons is reborn as a creature from the depths of hell. A Hellspawn. Now he is thrust into the world of Mortal Kombat, where he will fight from supremacy against all Kombatants.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
