YouTuber Banned From All EA Games and Services After Threats

A YouTuber by the name of Kurt "Kurt0411" Fenech has been banned from all EA games and online services following repeated incidents of abuse and threats towards EA. It's a pretty extreme move on EA's part, as a complete ban against an individual is a pretty strong punishment, though Fenech has repeatedly attacked the company on his YouTube channel.

Fenech, who regularly streamed FIFA games in addition to competing professionally, has had strong words for the company in the past, recently stating that EA had "killed their game and their 'eSport'" with FIFA 20. It's unclear if this was the final straw for EA, but regardless, Fenech is no longer allowed to access their games or services. EA has banned players in the past for a variety of reasons– including banning a Madden 20 player for past crimes.

"We build our games and communities for players to have fun," a statement issued by the company reads, "Creating a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone without fear of harassment or abuse is a vital part of that." EA has admitted that gamers think the company is "just a bunch of bad guys" in the past, and regularly receives criticism for how it operates business, with some believing that the company is too focused on profits, and less focused on gamers.

Follow-up tweets from Fenech were not remorseful, with the YouTuber believing that he has done nothing wrong. The YouTuber assured fans that he would "beat [EA]," though he didn't elaborate on how he intended to do so. Replies from the YouTuber's fans have been mostly sympathetic thus far, indicating that his base will likely follow him to other games.

As far as bans go, this is a particularly severe one, though Fenech has been banned before, just with less severe terms. It isn't rare for users to be banned from platforms like Twitch or YouTube, but to receive a complete ban from all of EA's services is a bit extreme. That simply proves how adamant EA is in ensuring that the player isn't allowed on its platforms. It's possible that the ban is overturned at some point in the future, but for now, it seems that Fenech will have to find other games to play on his channel.
