15 Year Old Added to NBA 2K20 Roster | Game Rant

The Make-A-Wish Foundation and NBA 2K20 have teamed up to make dreams come true for a 15-year old kid from Georgia. William Floyd, an avid fan of 2K20can now be downloaded as a playable character in the game on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

At just 18 months old, William Floyd was diagnosed with a muscle and heart disorder, that among other things, doesn't allow him to play sports. The Make-A-Wish Foundation got involved with William and he had one idea in mind: to be in a video game. The 2K team was thrilled to make William's wish come true, as they hosted William and his entire immediate family. William was able to take to the court in a suit that would capture his actions, his shots, and his movements so that when he is in the game he is able to perform as he would in person, including his best dribble moves.

There have been many awesome NBA players placed into the games, and even more amazing cover athletes in NBA 2k, the fact that William was scanned and suited up, getting the full treatment like an NBA superstar, and then placed into the game is truly special.

William's family noted that this was a dream come true for him. Not only is William now a downloadable player in the game, the first-ever non-NBA athlete to be authentically scanned into NBA 2K, but William was also able to give his input to the developers on NBA 2K21. The game hasn't been formally announced yet, but many believe that Kobe Bryant should be the cover athlete.

William was able to shoot, dribble, and even dance, which is something that excited William as well. NBA 2k20 will be coming to Xbox Game pass soon, so Xbox players will be able to dance with William for free. William is a free agent in-game, so whichever team fans want William on, they can bring him along and hope he helps them towards their championship goals.

Video games are often an escape from reality for players all over the world. Games can become more than just hobbies, thanks to advancement in technology. Just like many recreations, in a small way, they help people forget about the realities of life and assist in bringing joy. For William, it seems like Make-A-Wish and 2K truly teamed up to give him a special day, a day to remember, so that he can play his sport forever in a meaningful way.

NBA 2K20 is available now for iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
