Destiny 2 Details How to Get Different Trials of Osiris Armor Glows
Trials of Osiris have finally come to Destiny 2, and they has brought, among many other things, new armor for players to obtain along with them. While some fans will simply be happy earning a set of this new Trials of Osiris armor, others will wish to imbue it with a special glow effect, and Destiny 2 developer Bungie has detailed how these various glows are procured.
The first step in adding a glow to a set of this new armor is to go Flawless in Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris. This is done by reaching seven wins without a single recorded loss, a tall order indeed, and it gives Trials gear a special yellow glow. That said, this yellow glow is not permanent, and players must continue going Flawless to refresh the effect as it fades.
A yellow glow is not all that players will receive for going Flawless in Trials for the first time, though, as they will also be granted two unique Destiny 2 emblems: Light for the Lost and Flawless Empyrean. Not only do these emblems allow players to show off their Trials of Osiris-related stats, they are also the key to changing the glow color on Trials gear.
More specifically, players that wish to add a white glow to their Flawless armor must become "Lightmakers," which is done by equipping the Light of the Lost emblem and helping other Guardians reach Flawless in Trials for the very first time. Alternatively, players can add a red glow to their Flawless armor by becoming a "Lightbreaker," which is done by equipping the Flawless Empyrean emblem, hitting seven wins on a passage, and continuing to win matches from there.
While the processes for obtaining the various Trials of Osiris armor glows are fairly straightforward, actually hitting the requirements may be quite a bit more challenging. Indeed, just going Flawless a single time is not something that will be particularly easy for every player, and fans should thus not be frustrated if they have not yet received a glow. That said, these additional cosmetic flourishes may be enough to keep players motivated as they attempt to go Flawless.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
