Guy Brings His Pet Hedgehog to See Sonic the Hedgehog | Game Rant
The new Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been breaking box office records and found an interesting new fan. Twitter user Jake & Bandit posted several photos last Sunday of himself, Jake, and his female pet hedgehog, Bandit, enjoying the film– and it's incredibly adorable.
Sonic the Hedgehog has been topping the box office for the last three weeks, and was only recently dethroned by The Invisible Man. Several fans have been sharing their love of the movie on social media, but it wasn't until recently that fans started sharing photos of their hedgehogs enjoying the film.
The tweet was posted around midday on Sunday and has since accrued almost half a million likes and retweets. The photos showcase Bandit, an insanely cute Hedgehog, posing happily and nuzzling up with a cutout of the Blue Devil. Jake also announced that Bandit loved every part of the movie and loved meeting her hero hedgehog.
The love for the photos didn't stop with fans from the movie, even the voice of Sonic himself, Ben Schwartz, chimed in with a lovely tweet. Jake was beyond grateful for the mention and tweeted out his love for the actor and Parks and Rec, the series that Ben Schwartz is best known for.
Some concerned Sonic fans reached out to Jake & Bandit expressing their concern that the treatment of Bandit might not be humane. Taking a pet to a Sonic the Hedgehog movie was odd, and they were concerned Jake wasn't taking care of Bandit properly. Jake responded very calmly saying that he knows the signs of a hedgehog acting out, and Bandit was not displaying any form of distress. "I love her," Jake tweeted, "take good care of her + wouldn’t have done this if it would upset her as she’s my baby."
After the reassurance for Bandit's safety was confirmed, many fellow hedgehog fans started posting photos of their own hedgehogs. A stream of lovable prickly hedgehogs, old and young, blew up Jake & Bandit's feed. One Twitter user, Daisy Ramirez, shared a photo of her own hedgehog, Boss, posing in front of the record-breaking movie poster.
Sonic the Hedgehog is out now in theaters everywhere.
