Twitch Hosting Charity Stream Featuring Famous Musicians, Celebrities
Celebrities and companies have been showing their true colors in the coronavirus pandemic, donating money like streamer Ninja or supplies like Nintendo. And Twitch is now hosting a charity stream to help fund the COVID-19 Solidarity Response for WHO powered by the United Nations Foundation.
People around the world have been effected by the novel COVID-19 coronavirus, and artists, companies, and celebrities are coming out of the woodwork to help. Devs like CD Projekt Red and Riot Games are donating money to help contain or mitigate the threat of the coronavirus. The internet has also been filled with posts of companies, artists, and streamers that have been putting content out for free to amuse those trapped at home, like the WWE Network and Epic Games. And Twitch is the newest in the line of entertainment companies looking to fight back against the coronavirus.
Twitch announced a live charity stream featuring gaming, music, sports, and stars coming together to raise money for the World Health Organization who is on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be live today until 9PM PT tonight, raising money, blasting music, and hosting others to help entertain and bring in bucks for those in need.
They aren't the only ones donating to WHO; GamerzClass has also launched a charity for WHO with Cr1t- Dota 2 Course. Hopefully they will raise a lot of money for a world that really needs the help.
