Apex Legends Changing Kings Canyon Loot in Future Update

Although Apex Legends' Global Series has been postponed due to COVID-19, the delay has not stopped both professional players and Respawn Entertainment from working to make the game the best it can be. While Apex's developers are hoping to implement crossplay, players are pointing out urgent issues in the game - and Respawn is listening.

Recently, Respawn announced that it would be permanently adding the Kings Canyon map and the popular Duos mode to the game's roster. While the decision was great news for fans, it is causing unforeseen issues with gameplay balance. Nokokopuffs, an Apex player for the eSports team Counter Logic Gaming, complained that the game was becoming more unenjoyable to play. The pro cited audio inconsistencies, and technical issues with switching out broken armor. Other team members and players joined in,  and brought up problems with looting and finding necessary gear in Kings Canyon.

Medina then responded to player concerns, promising that Respawn was working on re-balancing the loot distribution in Kings Canyon, and told Nokokopuffs to let him know if the solution didn't work. He also addressed the armor issues, saying that he would talk to Apex Legends' designers about changing how evo armor is swapped.

While Respawn has always been on top of tackling irritating gameplay issues (such as muzzle flash making visibility worse), there will always be more issues to address as the game's meta continues to change with every update. Medina's dialogue with dissatisfied players is an encouraging sign that the developers are listening and responding to player input.

Apex Legends is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
