Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Fan Presents Genius '6th Sense' Perk Concept
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare community is a wealth of feedback and good ideas. One fan has posted screenshots on the official Reddit page suggesting a genius new perk that would add a 6th attachment slot to a gun.
This new perk, titled '6th Sense,' would be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and would give fans the option to trade the third perk slot for a gun attachment slot. The suggestion comes directly after the recent addition of 'Gunsmith Customs,' which has given the community an extra focus on creating unique weapons by combining blueprints.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launched with a rather in-depth gun customization option. Fans were excited at all the options for personalizing their weapon and shared their gear setups online frequently. Infinity Ward recognized fans' appreciation, and with 'Gunsmith Customs' gave the community more tools for building and designing guns. Customized blueprints allow players to build the perfect weapon for their playstyle.
Building the perfect weapon can be a process for some fans. The game currently limits the number of attachments to five, forcing fans to prioritize certain modifications in their builds. Each gun has up to nine different modification options allowing players to apply silencers, extended mags, or special sights to their weapons.
The limitation between the number of attachment slots and the max attachments a gun can hold force players to sacrifice some changes over others. The suggested '6th sense' perk would add one more option for fans to use in their effort of building the perfect weapon. Combine this with the new 'Gunsmith Customs' update, and players have a ton more choices when designing a gun within the game.
In the Reddit thread where the perk was suggested, fans are both for and against the perk. While most agree that it would fit well as a third perk slot, others argue that it would become a permanently picked perk and make the others underused. When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare initially launched the perk 'Overkill' was located in the first perk slot. Infinity Ward later changed it to the second slot as it was quickly discovered that fans were ignoring all the other options. Some fans are suggesting placing the perk in the second slot and allowing it to compete with the already strong 'Overkill' perk to compensate for its strength.
Although adding one attachment to a gun is not a massive change, the addition of a new perk needs to be carefully considered. The '6th Sense' perk is a genius suggestion that would benefit the game greatly, but the concern of it overpowering other perks in its category is still worthy of consideration.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
