As players that peruse these lists will see, the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons May fish in the Northern Hemisphere will all be relatively easy to catch. This is due to the fact that they can all be caught for fairly lengthy periods during the day, and the two Pier fish are likely to be the biggest hurdles. That said, players that load up on fish bait in ACNH and exercise a bit of patience should certainly be able to bag both a Giant Trevally and a Mahi-Mahi.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the new ACNH May fish are a bit rarer on average, but their scarcity still does not rival the likes of the Barreleye or Golden Trout. Again the fish that only appear at the Pier will be the ones that take the longest to catch, and indeed players should expect to spend a good amount of time trying obtain a Blue Marlin and Tuna.
Of course, new fish are not the only thing for players to look forward to in May, as there a number of new bugs as well. Additionally, there are two special Animal Crossing: New Horizons events set for this month, one being May Day and the other being International Museum Day, and these offerings should keep fans occupied for the time being.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
