Ghost of Tsushima Still Targeting June Release Date | Game Rant
Ghost of Tsushima has steadily revealed more of what it's all about, as well as things like gameplay features and pre-order bonuses as the game's release date approaches. For those who have been eagerly awaiting Ghost of Tsushima, each crumb offered has been tantalizing, and many players have grown impatient for the game to finally be released.
Of course, with the coronavirus causing event cancellations, hardware shortages, and disrupting the video game industry in general, many players have worried that Ghost of Tsushima will be delayed, possibly pushed back by weeks or months. This fear has grown with the delays of the other major titles for the PS4, especially The Last of Us 2. Fortunately, PlayStation fans do not have to re-think their time set aside to play the game just yet, as it appears there is no delay planned for Ghost of Tsushima at the moment.
Ghost of Tsushima releases on June 26, which was revealed in the latest trailer for the game. With the above mentioned delays of other big PS4 titles, it is very likely that Ghost will be the talk of the town for a while after it finally hits store shelves, hopefully tiding players over until things return to normal.
With a little over two months until Ghost finally drops, players will have time to speculate over everything that has been revealed about it so far, and try to figure out how it all fits together. For example, Ghost of Tsushima's open-world design has a focus on players exploring the island of Tsushima according to whatever piques their interest, like Breath of the Wild, while also possessing an extensive narrative about a samurai who must learn stealth techniques to battle invading Mongols.
There is also the interesting design choice to have no waypoints in Ghost of Tsushima's open world, either placed by the player or by the game itself. For many players who have never had the chance to find their way through an open world manually, as was the case with Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Ghost will probably serve as their introduction to this style of exploration and the mix of intrigue and frustration it causes.
Ghost of Tsushima will release on June 26 exclusively for the PS4.
