Nintendo Switch Update 10.0.2 Patch Notes Revealed | Game Rant
Last night, Nintendo Switch owners might have noticed a new update that was pushed through without warning. The update is available for both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch Lite. It isn't a very big file, so the download and update times are pretty short. As for what is contained in the update, well, that isn't all that impressive either.
After a peek at the patch notes, Nintendo appears to have released the 10.0.2 update in an attempt to add general system stability improvements. Specifically, this includes a fix to an issue where the new Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers were not working as intended, which was a result of the 10.0.0 and 10.0.1 updates. This will be a relief to owners of those controllers that may have been experiencing problems.
Below are the full patch notes, straight from Nintendo:
General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including a solution for the following:
- We have fixed an issue where a Nintendo Switch console with system menu version 10.0.0 or 10.0.1 does not set up a new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, sometimes causing incorrect joystick control.
As gamers enter May, they come ever closer to a period of some of the biggest announcements in gaming, through annual conventions where companies dish on current and future projects to hype the masses. The coronavirus crisis has thrown a wrench into these plans, however, and the events have been canceled for the safety of attendees and presenters. Even the year's biggest gaming event, E3 2020, has been canceled, much to the disappointment of the community.
Nintendo would typically be one of the few companies least affected by these developments since it has moved most of its announcements online through a special Direct presentation. Unfortunately, it is now being reported that Nintendo is going to be delaying the June Nintendo Direct originally scheduled the week of E3, also a result of the pandemic.
During these strange times, when some of the most anticipated events of the year are taking a hiatus, there isn't much to do except move on and try to adjust to life indoors. Thankfully, that isn't too much of an adjustment for many gamers. There also happens to be a lot of great new game releases and plenty of sales to bulk up game libraries to help pass the time. Currently, Nintendo is having a sale on first-party games, which can be found through various online outlets.
