PUBG Now Available on Google Stadia With Cross-Platform Play
It’s official. After being teased via leak earlier today, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has not only been confirmed for Google Stadia, it’s now available on the streaming-based platform.
In its official announcement, PUBG Corporation confirmed that Stadia users in North America and “select European countries” can now drop into the popular battle royale shooter without having to wait to download it. What’s more, anyone with a Stadia Pro subscription can get their hands on the Pioneer Edition for free, which gets them the game itself along with the new Survivor Pass: Cold Front and a Stadia-exclusive skin set.
In addition to support for both keyboard/mouse and standard controllers along with the Stadia controller, this new version of PUBG also supports cross-play with other consoles, enabling players to team up with their non-Stadia friends and “battle together for that elusive chicken dinner.”
“PUBG pioneered the Battle Royale genre, and we’re excited to continue evolving and growing our audience with Stadia, the pioneer in cloud-based gaming,” said Ashley Youngsun Nam, PUBG Corporation’s Head of Console. “With instant access to PUBG through Stadia Pro and access to cross-platform play, gamers have no excuse but to drop-in and land, loot, and survive in our iconic Battle Royale experience.”
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
