Resident Evil 3 Board Game Revealed for Kickstarter | Game Rant
The recently released Resident Evil 3 has been somewhat controversial for Capcom, with some wondering whether the significantly different remake is good. However, that doesn't mean the game's marketing machine will slow down anytime soon, with Manchester tabletop publisher Steamforged Games announcing a Kickstarter campaign for a board game adaptation of RE3 that will launch on April 28.
According to Steamforged Games' news release, it will be a cooperative survival horror game for up to four players that features a 19+ hour campaign to escape Raccoon City, as well as one-shot scenarios. This Resident Evil 3 board game will follow the mold laid out by Resident Evil 2: The Board Game, which was released in 2019.
There's no indication as to how much money Capcom and Steamforged Games are looking to raise through Kickstarter, but the tabletop developer already has over 3,700 followers on the site as of this writing. Steamforged Games co-founder Mat Hart said the new game "will surprise and challenge even the most hardcore RE fans."
Another Kickstarted-backed project soon to see an official release is Cyanide and Happiness: Freakpocalypse, which will launch as a timed Switch exclusive this summer.
Resident Evil 3: The Board Game's Kickstarter will be open on April 28, 2020.
