Super Mega Baseball 3 New Features and Delay Warning | Game Rant
Baseball may not be starting anytime soon, but Super Mega Baseball 3's development is nearing its conclusion. At least, that remains developer Metalhead Software's goal. Today the studio released a new trailer for Super Mega Baseball 3 detailing some of the game's new features. Alongside the trailer, Metalhead also started a conversation about the game's release date and the impact of COVID-19 on development, and while an April release date remains the plan, things might change.
According to Metalhead, COVID-19 has led to some "logistical delays" in Super Mega Baseball 3's release, but how those delays have changed Metalhead's plans isn't specified. Super Mega Baseball 3's release date was April before, and it remains April now, however, there is a possibility of a delay, but Metalhead expects it will be small if it does end up happening.
In more fun news, Super Mega Baseball 3 is getting a bunch of new features. Franchise Mode is a major addition to the game, with players able to train, trade, and develop their baseball players. Changes are also being made to Exhibition, Season, and Elimination modes. Players can even watch full simulated games between AI during seasons. There are also all manner of new parks, teams, visual features, customizations, and so on being added.
Super Mega Baseball 3 remains a great sports game for gamers who love team management games or baseball/general sports titles, especially games with tons of customization options for myriad small details. For those unsure whether SMB3 is for them, there will also be demos available across all platforms.
Super Mega Baseball 3 launches in April on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
