Animal Crossing: New Horizons Glitch Lets Players Walk In Rivers
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has some bugs and glitches, with some, like the item duplicating exploit, absolutely breaking the game's economy. The latest glitch, however, doesn't carry as much weight and is more of an interesting little trick that allows players to walk around in the game's water.
As with many other glitches in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this one was discovered completely by accident. Reddit user '3llowh' was hitting a rock on their island and ended up in the river. After the incident, they reenacted the circumstances and posted the results online. By hitting a rock with a shovel, with their back to the edge of a bridge, then digging a hole right after, a player can be pushed on top of the bridge's railing. Then they can just step off into the river and walk around freely.
For those wanting to climb to even greater heights, another glitch allows players to walk on top of buildings and go out of bounds. It is more intricate than the walking on water glitch, but still worth a shot for anyone who likes to mess around like this. Nintendo has quite a bit of patching and updating to do in response to the myriad glitches and bugs in New Horizons. There is currently no telling when they will be fixed, but it's likely the company is working on a solution.
Correcting the glitches in the game are really secondary to many players. There are a lot of QoL (quality of life) improvements people are hoping will come to the game first. Asking any New Horizons player what they'd like to see changed will yield quite a list of ways to enhance their experiences on the island. Many of these requests are so common between players, a fan was able to create a video of a fake Nintendo Direct that addresses nearly all of them. It is very well made and surprisingly believable.
In it, players get a glimpse of what could be if Nintendo decided to implement these changes, such as the ability to craft multiple items at once or speeding up text players have already heard. The creators even imagine a new app for the Nook Phone that lets players open their gates without having to go to the airport. Everyone can agree that even if a few of these ideas were put into the game, it would make for a more enjoyable and smoother experience.
