Call of Duty Modern Warfare Player Discovers Game Breaking Bug in Tavorsk District

Activision is no stranger to glitches, exploits, and hacks in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As soon as one is fixed, another takes its place. One of the infamous exploits within the Call of Duty franchise is the 'out of map' glitch.

Although this style of glitch is common, triggering one can be difficult. Using it in a map like Tavorsk District, the unfair advantage gained becomes more than just kills. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare larger maps often mean more holes to slip through, allowing players more access to the exploit and an unkillable status within the game.

A video posted to Reddit shows a kill cam of a player using the exploit. After a successful kill, the Reddit user notices a red blip headed his direction. Carefully, they check the rooftops and proceed toward the incoming enemy in hopes of catching them off guard. Suddenly they're hit by a shot out of nowhere. Initially, the kill looks like a well-placed sniper shot, but not everything is as it seems.

The video shows a player running below the map on a strip of grass, similar to the glitch on Piccadilly. They have a clear view of the world above, being able to scope in on others without being seen. Although bullets normally stop when they hit the ground, a player under the map can shoot straight through the ground allowing them to remain hidden and unkillable — and giving them access to the enemy team's control points.

In a map like Tavorsk District, the ability to hide under the battlefield becomes extremely powerful. A player could score up tons of extra kills, capture objectives, and be completely untouchable while doing so. Although it is not clear if the player in the video can leave the grassy patch, the advantage of being an unseen assassin still gives them a massive advantage over other players.

Out of map glitches are rare and usually happen on accident due to a rendering issue or the disappearance of the game's mesh during an update. The only time they become a real problem is if they can be triggered intentionally on a consistent basis.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
