Complete Call of Duty: Warzone M13 Breakdown | Game Rant
Call of Duty: Warzone has a huge number of weapons to choose from, each one catering to a unique playstyle. The most popular weapons tend to be the most balanced and reliable, but some guns can reach far higher heights with practice, correct technique, and a few specialized setups. The M13 is one such gun, with versatility on par with an AK or M4, range that rivals DMRs, and unique shooting characteristics that offer a high degree of both challenge and reward.
The M13 may just be the AR most uniquely suited to Call of Duty: Warzone in its base form. The gun has great natural mobility paired with exceptional range and negligible recoil. The thing that makes the M13 so challenging is that it has a much lower damage per shot than many other ARs, meaning that without headshots, it will usually lose face-to-face gunfights.
What the M13 does have, on the other hand, is exceptional damage range, an extremely high headshot multiplier, and a blistering rate of fire combined with low recoil. That allows the M13 to rapidly dish out headshots with extreme consistency, bringing its DPS up to surpass even the best ARs in the game.
With the right attachments, the M13 can easily become the best long range AR with full automatic fire, and even weighed down with a long barrel and suppressor, it maintains better mobility and ADS times than most LMGs and even other similarly outfitted ARs. The M13 also has a large number of stealth-oriented attachments, which are always important in Warzone. For a well balanced, stealthy gun, the M13 is one of the most versatile weapons in Warzone.
The M13 has the widest array of stealth-oriented attachments out of any AR in Warzone. It has the Monolithic suppressor, one of the best attachments for any weapon and a must-have in Warzone, but also has two unique attachments not found anywhere else. The Tempus Cyclone barrel is an integral suppressor that offers all the same benefits of the Monolithic while freeing up another attachment slot, and the option of .300 Blackout subsonic ammunition will increase the weapon's stealth and damage range while only slightly reducing bullet velocity.
The M13 Skeleton stock is great because it increased mobility and reduces ADS time with very little accuracy penalty, while the Tempus Marksman barrel does a great job of increasing range and recoil control. Stippled Grip Tape and the Commando foregrip remain great options, while both 50- and 60-round extended magazines are near-essential for Warzone. Optics are totally up to preference, while lasers, most muzzle devices, and anything that reduces range are typically a bad idea.
A totally silent M13 with extreme range and accuracy is incredibly fun to play with. A zoom optic, Monolithic suppressor, Tempus Marksman barrel, Commando foregrip, and .300 Blackout ammunition make the M13 one of the quietest guns in the entire game, with range that can put guns like the SKS sniper to shame. The only downside is that there is very little ammo on hand with this setup.
The best setup possible for the M13 is very similar to the stealthy one above. A zoom optic, Monolithic suppressor, Tempus Marksman barrel, and Commando foregrip all stay the same, but 60-round extended magazines provide a lot more firepower for getting through body armor without really sacrificing much stealth or range. Even with such a long-range setup, the M13 maintains great mobility, but a more balanced build with optic, Tempus Cyclone integrated suppressor barrel, Commando foregrip, 50-round magazines, and rubberized Grip Tape offers a lot more versatility, while only losing out slightly on range, control, and firepower.
If mobility is still a bit too slow, swapping in a Skeleton stock instead of a foregrip or grip tape can make a huge difference. The biggest trick to doing well with the M13 is practicing to get a feel for its unique shooting mechanics. Players will have to get used to always aiming for headshots, rather than easier upper-torso hits. With body shots, the M13 will always lose to the ever-reliable M4A1 or incredibly fast RAM-7, but with headshots and better range it can out-compete either one.
The M13 isn't for everyone. It is very fun to use, but can be a bit challenging, much like the AK-47. It is a high risk, high reward weapon that may be better suited to a larger squad with other players who can pick up a bit of slack. However, it is definitely worth having an M13 setup on hand for times when switching it up is necessary. It is definitely an underappreciated weapon, and in the right hands it can be a precision instrument for both stealth and efficiency.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
