Complete Call of Duty Warzone RAM-7 Breakdown | Game Rant
Ever since it was added to the game, the RAM-7 has been the most powerful weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone based on stats alone. However, it has not achieved the same popularity as other ARs because of its slightly unusual recoil pattern and severe lack of customization options. With the right attachments and correct technique, the RAM-7 can be one of the most formidable weapons available, so anyone who wants to do well in Warzone or Modern Warfare should at least be aware of the RAM-7's potential.
Both Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare are well in the stride of Season 3, despite various issues incurred by the latest update. Fixes are incoming, but even some slow matchmaking times are not preventing players from hopping online to grind out tiers in the battle pass before the season is over. Battle royale is one of the best ways to gain battle pass progress, and performing well is the key to reaching the highest tiers quickly. For that, a powerful weapon like the RAM-7 is a necessity and may offer a welcome break from the tried and true weapons that everyone is accustomed to.
The RAM-7 may not be as customizable as extremely versatile weapons like the AK, M4, or MP5, but it is one of the best weapons for Warzone. It doesn't have the popularity of the M4A1 because it is harder to unlock and it has a much less reliable recoil pattern, but with a little practice, it is just about the best shot at victory any player can get. Its lack of customization also makes it very simple and easy to construct builds for, and there are just a few attachments that help wrangle recoil and improve the RAM-7's range.
The Monolithic suppressor has been a staple in practically every Warzone weapon breakdown, and the RAM-7 is no exception. The Monolithic increases range and provides stealth, making it one of the best customization options in the game. For the RAM-7, the FSS Ranger barrel increases range and provides better recoil control without harming mobility or ADS times too much. The Commando foregrip is another common denominator for Warzone builds because it improves controllability without hampering ADS times.
50-round extended magazines will help with shredding through body armor, making them yet another must-have attachment. Stocks and Grip Tapes offer many of the same benefits, and can be added to a build whenever necessary to round out its mobility or recoil control if needed. However, most muzzle devices are impractical for Warzone, as are Lasers and many of the grips and stocks that worsen range, recoil control, and mobility.
The best build for the RAM-7 in Warzone increases its range to allow its insane DPS times to shine even in long distance encounters. A zoom optic like the VLK 3.0, a Monolithic suppressor, the FSS Ranger barrel, a Commando foregrip, and 50-round extended magazines will wring the maximum performance out of the RAM-7. Its rate of fire is so quick that those 50-round magazines will deplete at a record pace, so keeping extra ammo on hand is highly recommended.
In close-range encounters, the RAM-7 has sprint to fire speed and DPS to rival the best SMGs in the game. A build that sacrifices range to provide the utmost in mobility would look something like this: 13.5" compact barrel, mini reflex optic, XRK Close Quarters stock, Commando foregrip, and Stippled Grip Tape. A build like that would be a good substitute for the MP5, especially in a team that has the mid- to long-range taken care of.
The most balanced build for the RAM-7 would include an optic of choice, Monolithic suppressor, FORGE TAC eclipse Barrel, 50-round magazines, and Rubberized Grip Tape. This setup doesn't have quite the same accuracy as the long-range one described above, but it would excel in a variety of situations without losing out on too much mobility or handling. Taking the RAM-7 into a custom game is a great way to test out a variety of setups to find the best one.
The RAM-7 is one of the only weapon in the game with a recoil pattern that moves up and to the left. That makes it a little strange to use for many players at first, but with a bit of practice anyone can take advantage of the fact that it has the best stats in the game. More reliable weapons like the M4A1 will likely always be preferred by the vast majority of players, but those who are willing to switch it up will have a clear-cut advantage when done right.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
