Destiny 2: Telesto is Bugged Again, PvP Exploit Found | Game Rant
Destiny 2 has an Exotic Hunter Gauntlet called "Liar's Handshake," which has an Intrinsic Perk called "Cross Counter." Whenever a Hunter successfully strikes an enemy with their Arc Melee, this perk activates and grants them a massive melee damage boost for three seconds. When combined with the 20-second damage boost gifted by Combination Blow — an Arc Strider ability that activates whenever a Hunter scores a melee kill — Hunters can kill enemy guardians in a single hit.
However, as one can imagine, pulling off this combination is somewhat tricky. But, a glitch with the infamous Exotic Fusion Rifle Telesto makes it easier, as it causes the projectiles fired by the Exotic's Intrinsic Perk "Unplanned Reprieve" to count as enemies. This means that if a Hunter with the mentioned melee perks successfully hits one of the projectiles, they will activate Cross Counter.
Twitter user Stealthy CXVII discovered this and essentially figured out that pairing the Liar's Handshake together with Telesto allows Hunters to kill whoever they want in PVP activities with a press of the melee button.
To perform the combo, Hunters fire the Telesto at any surface of their choosing. Then — using their Arc Melee — strike one of these projectiles, which will trigger the Cross Counter perk, and for the next three seconds, they'll be able to kill whoever they come across. And if the Hunter's Arc Melee is currently in cooldown, they can dodge to help replenish it.
While this might seem busted on the surface, it's actually not as bad as some previous Telesto glitches as it requires way too many variables to fall into place to be consistent or practical. The one-hit-kill window is only open for three seconds, which means if a player even wants to try to pull it off, they'll need to get close to an enemy undetected. In which case, they would be better off just shooting them with the Telesto — or better yet, a shotgun.
On top of this, the Hunter will need to have Combination Blow active to kill with an ordinary melee hit. Otherwise, they would need to use another fully charged melee. The Thunder Coil season artifact might make pulling this off easier, though, since it increases Arc Melee damage. With it, players could potentially go on a one-hit-kill spree if enemies are close enough.
Bungie hasn't said anything about the glitch yet, but it probably won't feel the need to turn the Telesto offline again in Destiny 2 to solve it.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
