How to Play With Your Buddy in Pokemon GO | Game Rant
Pokemon GO's Johto Throwback event has arrived, and it has brought a number of challenges along with it. One of the earliest of these Johto Throwback challenges asks fans to play with their Buddy Pokemon in PoGO, and some players may not immediately know how this is done. Fortunately, with a bit of instruction fans should have little trouble playing with their Buddy in Pokemon GO, and this guide will provide all of the details.
The first step to completing the play with your Buddy task in Pokemon GO is to select a Buddy Pokemon, and that is done by tapping on the Trainer portrait at the bottom left corner of the screen and then tapping "Choose Buddy." Then all a player must do is tap on the Pokemon that they want to make their Buddy, and they will then be able to access its Buddy Profile by tapping on its portrait, which will be found immediately next to the Trainer portrait.
Once a player has pulled up the Buddy Profile they should then click the "Play!" button that is located immediately below the Pokemon. This will activate the phone's camera and allow fans to place their Buddy Pokemon in the environment. If a player is having trouble getting this to work properly, disabling AR mode from within Settings may be advisable.
Now that the Pokemon has appeared players are ready to play with their Buddy in Pokemon GO, and that is done simply by rubbing it back and forth. If a PoGO fan is doing this correctly then they will see sparkles on the Pokemon's body, and eventually a heart will appear over its head. It is at this point that they will have finished the play with your Buddy task in PoGO, and they can then move on to some of the other Johto research.
With respect to what fans will find at the end of the Pokemon GO Johto Throwback challenges, 10 Rare Candies and a Ho-Oh with Earthquake are the ultimate rewards. Along the way they will need to catch Ghost-type Pokemon, Fighting-type Pokemon, and more, and perhaps they will find a new Buddy in PoGO as they complete these other challenges.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
